The customer wanted to remove the thick poly finish from the back of this guitars neck. It's a common complaint. The lacquer gets sticky from the hand sweat and grime during a performance. I removed the old finish and applied a stain and then a true-oil finish that results in a very "fast" playing surface. The true challenge was blending in the oil finish with the poly finish at a point that was both aesthetically pleasing and not hindering to playability. This tele has a set neck that is carved and blended into the body which also proved to be a little more challenging.
